How plain and empty our life would be, without beautiful birds singing and chirping and flying around. I'm sure you looked into a tree and seen a bird busily building a nest. Birds are warm blood their body temperature stays the same even if the temperature changes about them. They can't take a draft. All birds have feathers and wings. Birds don't have teeth. Their beaks (bills) are for eating food and defending themselves. Not all birds can fly , the Penguin and Ostrich can't. The Penguins wings are their flippers and they use them to swim. The Ostrich uses their wings for balance and to attract a mate, they can walk and run but do not fly. WOW isn't nature the greatest. Birds all come from an egg. Once I went to an Ostrich farm, they also had Emu's there. The Ostrich eggs are big and the shell was much thicker than a chicken shell, guess you figured that out yourself. It was quite an experience at the Ostrich farm. I don't think you and I are going to have a Penguin or Ostrich as a house pet, but I'm sure there are many who have Parrots, Canaries, Parakeets, African Greys, Cockatiels, Cockatoos and many, many other beautiful and wonderful birds as pets.

With a good diet your birds feathers will be better. Some birds eat seed as a major part of their diet, all seeds contain protein, but seed alone doesn't have many of the elements needed to have a really healthy diet, you need variety in their diets, for health and to make meal time more interesting and fun. Variety as they say is the spice of life. Pellets, fruits, vegetables, varied in their diet will keep your bird from being bored and keep them healthy. Their immune system can start to weaken from a bad diet. Check with your Vet if your not sure of what is a nutritionally good diet for your bird or any pet. Birds need treats and snacks of all sorts, there are some really good and tasty treats one the market for your birds. Hanging fresh greens about the cage is a good thing to do. Birds need to have things to entertain themselves there are all sorts of toys for birds , some like the Shredders is natural woven Palm Leaves, you weave about the cage and the bird tears it apart. Hey, talking about toys they have Piñatas for birds that are filled with dried fruits and veggies and the whole thing is safe, non-toxic now if your bird is like most, his curiosity will have him nibbling away. Birds need to have things to play with to swing, stand, pull and pick on. Birds are beautiful creatures, we are fortunate to be able to have them in our lives. Yes, it truly is a wonderful world.

Some pets are chewers some are not. Clothing should never be left on an unsupervised pet. Some products like hats and glasses may take some time for pets to get accustomed to wearing.
